Hungry Caterpillar

For our youngest son's first birthday we did The Very Hungry Caterpillar theme.
Everyone, including the kids loved the theme and the food!

I'm not one to spend a lot of money on party favors since the kids just toss them aside within a few hours! I keep an eye out in Target's dollar section year round and stock up on favors that go with party themes I may have. Each favor for this party was $2.33 and the kids loved playing with them!

Each child got a personalized place card at their seat

Cut these out, glued them to tooth picks and put  them around the fruits .

I found the leaf serving trays at the dollar store and the wooden blocks
the dollar section at Target.
I ordered the paper straws from Chasing fireflies, a darling website!

My friend just finished culinary school and offered to make our cake. She wanted to gain more experience and only wanted me to pay for the supplies.... so the grand total was only $30!

Everyone... I mean everyone loved the lantern caterpillar!
I bought the lanterns from Paper Lantern Store for around $9!

I think we spent the most money on doughnuts!
Everyone loves Krispy Kreme doughnuts so we spent over $16 on doughnuts!

We bought a verity of bagels from Panera Bread... soo good!

I searched online for milk bottle glasses and found that they would leave a good dent in my wallet!

So instead I bought a few Strarbucks cappuccino bottles
that were on sale for $3.99 for a four pack at Target  (.99 per bottle).

The kids had a choice between putting chocolate milk or orange juice in them :)
